Mumak With Crew

Huzzah!

After the washes had all dried it was a time consuming but simple task to re-highlight all of the raised surfaces and voila one Mumak with Crew.

The blues all work well together I think!

From the back...

And the other side, sorry about the lighting on these photos!

Here's a trooper...

And back...

And a more covered one...

And back...

So there you go! Batch painted my first Harad warband, I guess I should start the next one (all spears) soon huh =)

  1. Fantastic! Came out really well, and I really like the color scheme! I love how the washes and highlights really bring out the detail in their outfits.

  2. Awesome painting job! They look very nice with your painting scheme, and I especially like the brown skin and mumak with skin that looks like real elephant one, and not the usual skin that's just grey. The only thing I'd change is the color of his clothes. I think you've got way too many colors to fit with the mumakil. So I'd say you shoulc bring the colors back to just red and blue.

    1. Thanks Rowan =)

Not sure what other colours you're seeing? They've only got blue, red, brown, ivory, metal and grey, same as the Mumak colours. The captain is the only one with anything different, with bronzy/gold colour on his armour as befits his rank.

Perhaps the bad lighting/poor photography or image compression has screwed things up, but the paint is even from the same paint pots =)

    2. Haha, could be. The thing is that, maybe because of bad light or something, they miss the matching colours from the mumaks like they were in the films. I love the mumak, but I think you should add a bit more blue to them, as, aside from the lowest level, the whole howdah is blue too.
